Welcome to Castle Playgroup & Castle Kids
Located in the heart of Kirby Muxloe, we provide a welcoming, nurturing and safe environment where children can learn, play and grow.
Our modern, secure and gated setting is surrounded by mature parkland, giving children plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor play and exploration. We also offer ample free parking and are conveniently located just a two-minute walk from Kirby Muxloe Primary School.
Castle Playgroup
provides high-quality pre-school care and early years education for children from 2 years old. Our experienced and qualified childcare team creates a warm, stimulating environment where children can develop their confidence, independence and social skills through play and learning. We accept Government funding for ages 2, 3 and 4, both 15 and 30 hours.
Castle Kids
For children attending Kirby Muxloe Primary School, Castle Kids provides convenient Breakfast Club and After-School Club care.Our Breakfast Club offers a relaxed start to the day before children are safely taken to school, while our After-School Club provides a fun and welcoming environment after the school day, with collection from Kirby Muxloe Primary School until 6:00pm.

With a wealth of experience in early years and childcare, our team are committed to providing high-quality care and making sure every child receives the attention and support they need.

Castle Kids
Castle Kids is our wrap-around breakfast and after-school club for children aged 4–11 years attending KMPS, providing a fun, friendly and welcoming environment before and after the school day. At breakfast time, our Castle Kids can start their day like kings and queens with a delicious breakfast, including toast, fresh fruit, selection cereals and fresh milk. Once breakfast is finished, we safely walk the children across the park to school for the day ahead. After school, the fun continues with healthy food, drinks and a light tea, alongside LOADS of exciting indoor and outdoor activities. Children can enjoy games, sports and skills activities and outdoor play, giving them plenty of opportunities to play, relax, learn and socialise.
Castle Playgroup
At Castle Playgroup we provide a fun, friendly and nurturing environment where little ones can learn, play and grow. We welcome children into a safe and stimulating setting where every day is filled with exciting activities, creative play and plenty of opportunities to explore and develop new skills. Our experienced team encourage children to build confidence, independence and friendships while supporting their individual interests and development following the EYFS learning through play. From messy play and arts and crafts to stories, music, outdoor adventures and imaginative play, there’s always something exciting happening at Castle Playgroup! Our Pre-School runs from 8:45am until 3:00pm, giving children the perfect balance of learning, play and social time in preparation for their next big adventure.
Funding Guidance

2 Year old Government Funding
Eligible two-year-olds may get up to 30 hours per week, with some two-year-olds who receive additional support, may be entitled to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. Funded by the local authority. Parents must claim for this via GOV.UK
If your child attends Castle Playgroup for more hours than they are funded for, this will be charged at our hourly rate

3 & 4 Year Old Goverment Funding
Every child is entitled to 15 funded hours of early education per week from the term after their third birthday. Eligible working parents may be entitled to up to 30 funded hours per week, for 38 weeks of the year. (These hours can be split between settings.)
If your child attends Castle Playgroup for more hours than they are funded for, this will be charged at our hourly rate.

EYPP/Additional Costs
Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) provides additional funding directly to the setting to help enhance your child’s learning, development and experiences.
For all government-funded hours, parents/carers are required to sign a Parental Statement of Undertaking (PSOU) for the hours being claimed. If you are happy to proceed, please speak to our manager, Marie, and provide your consent on the PSOU form.
At Castle Playgroup, we do not charge any additional fees for consumables.
